Job Summary A Staff Pharmacist in a community pharmacy is responsible for ensuring the safe, accurate, and effective dispensing of prescription medications while providing high-quality patient care. The pharmacist works closely with patients, physicians, and pharmacy staff to optimize medication therapy and promote health and wellness within the community.

Key responsibilities include reviewing prescriptions for accuracy and clinical appropriateness, counseling patients on medication use, managing drug therapy, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and qualified standards. The pharmacist also oversees pharmacy operations, supports workflow efficiency, and contributes to patient-centered services such as immunizations, medication reviews, and chronic disease management.

The role requires strong clinical knowledge, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high standard of care.

Duties

- Dispense prescription medications accurately in accordance with physicians' orders and legal requirements
- Provide comprehensive patient care, including medication counseling and education on proper usage and potential side effects
- Review prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and potential drug interactions using medical terminology expertise




- Administer medications as needed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols
- Collaborate with medical staff to develop and implement medication management plans for patients in acute care settings
- Maintain detailed records of medication dispensation and patient interactions in compliance with regulatory standards
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure the proper storage of pharmaceuticals
- Stay current with new medications, industry regulations, and best practices in pharmacy care

Requirements

- Valid pharmacist license with current registration in College of Pharmacist of Manitoba
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration protocols
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality patient care within a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and patients
- Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and maintain confidentiality
- Commitment to ongoing professional development to stay updated on pharmaceutical advancements and regulatory changes

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $60.00-$63.00 per hour
