We are currently seeking a Journeyman Millwright to join our Lunenburg Operations. The Millwright will possess the ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic maintenance team in a progressive work environment. This is a unionized position located at our plant in Lunenburg, NS. The successful candidate will be assigned to an available shift by seniority following completion of in-house training. (Relocation assistance available to those who are eligible)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Primarily responsible for general repair and maintenance of equipment and machinery
- Completion of preventative maintenance tasks
- General mechanical work in a production environment
- Ability to work with hand and powered tools
- Other projects/duties as required
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will have a Journeyman Millwright certification.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area while contributing to overall plant safety and cleanliness
- Inspecting and monitoring machinery and equipment for pinch points and safety hazards; installing safety devices as required
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Capable of following instruction manuals and troubleshooting
- Excellent communication, team and people skills
- Self-motivated with a high degree of initiative and flexibility
- The ability to provide excellent customer service in a demanding production environment
- Candidates must be capable of working rotating shifts.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $38.42 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Weekends as needed
Supplemental pay types:
- Overtime pay
