Position Overview

The main responsibility of the Accounting manager at Hardwood Ski and Bike is to manage all levels of the bookkeeping and accounting, and payroll/bill payments for the operations at Hardwood Ski and Bike. This includes the following:

Accounting & Bookkeeping

- Manage Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), financial statements, and taxes
- File HST, WSIB, and other required reports
- Prepare monthly cash flow and management reports
- Maintain tax, finance, and employee records
- Provide files for annual financial statements

Cash Management

- Act as banking representative
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
- Monitor Point of Sale (POS) cash activities

Inventory Management

- Record inventory purchases and sales in POS
- Monitor inventory payments and cash flow
- Co-Lead annual inventory count and adjustments with Retail Manager

Payroll / Personnel

- Process biweekly payroll
- Maintain employee records
- Prepare the Record of Employment (ROE) and other personnel-related documents




- Manage payroll compliance (EHT, insurance, WSIB)
- Assist with onboarding of recent employees

Government Reporting

- Prepare and file quarterly HST reports
- Complete grant reporting
- Manage tax payments

Skills / Proficiencies

- Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets
- Sage 50
- ADP Payroll
- CRA filing and reporting
- POS (Smartvendor)
