Your Opportunity As a Structural Engineer your role is to work with direct supervision and general direction on tasks and smaller projects, and as a team member of a larger project under the guidance of a senior engineer/designer. You will participate in the evaluation, recommendation, and specification for engineered systems or products for a project verifying compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards/practices.
Your Key
Responsibilities Supports project team in development of design documentation, plans and reports for relevant project design elements.
Assists in the development of a design through sketches, Analytical models, drawings, and other visual formats.
Prepares and revises documentation in various project phases.
Coordinates with other disciplines (architectural, mechanical, electrical, civil, etc.) to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
Assists in the review of shop drawings and submittals, responds to requests for information, prepares site observation reports, and performs other contract administration tasks.
Assists with the development of technical specifications & standards.
Assists in the evaluation and selection of structural systems and materials.
Complete required structural calculations, under the guidance of a senior engineer.
Attends project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants.
Participates in value engineering and basic cost estimating Performs calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
Ability to perform on-site design services and field support.
Work as a contributing team member within a multi-discipline team.
Understand and work within Stantec's quality control guidelines.
Comply with Stantec's EH&S; program, with a focus on safety in the field.
Execute structural engineering deliverables on multiple projects in a dynamic work environment.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications,
experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
