The Opportunity: Our client is a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm specializing in transportation and infrastructure projects across Ontario. As they continue to grow, they are seeking a Project Designer to join their Structural (Bridge) Engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented engineering technologist or designer who enjoys technical design work and wants to contribute to the successful delivery of bridge and structural infrastructure projects. Working alongside experienced engineers and designers, you will play a key role in preparing high-quality technical drawings, supporting design development, and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and accurately.

What You'll Be Doing:

- Prepare structural and bridge engineering drawings using AutoCAD, including plans, profiles, sections, and quantity calculations.
- Develop and maintain drawing packages throughout all phases of project delivery, from preliminary design through construction.
- Coordinate drawing revisions, version control, and drawing register management to ensure project documentation remains accurate and current.
- Interpret engineering sketches, markups, and technical direction to produce detailed construction drawings.
- Participate in internal quality reviews and incorporate engineering comments efficiently and accurately.
- Assist structural engineers with design calculations and technical documentation.




- Develop standard drawing details and templates to improve project consistency and efficiency.
- Prepare and verify contract tender quantities and supporting documentation.
- Interpret and apply applicable engineering standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct occasional field reviews and site visits to support project delivery and construction activities.
- Stay current with evolving design technologies, software, and industry best practices.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:

- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting bridge, culvert, retaining wall, or other transportation infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD is required; experience with Civil 3D and Revit Structure is considered a robust asset.
- Familiarity with MTO standards, OPSS, OPSD, CSA standards, and Ontario transportation design requirements is preferred.
- Working knowledge of structural systems, including reinforced concrete, structural steel, timber, and masonry.
- Strong technical aptitude with excellent computer and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
- General knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and safe work practices.

Compensation Range : $65,000- $90,000
