The Physics Department seeks applications for student laboratory assistants for the fall 2026 term for Physics 1110 and Physics 1210 as well as student tutorial assistants for Physics 1110.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assist the instructor to act as a general resource person for students during the undergraduate laboratories or tutorials

- Monitoring student operations conducting experiments and providing technical and guiding help when required during undergraduate laboratories

- Assist the instructor to ensure that students follow and comply with any provided protected laboratory procedures

- Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as applicable

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Enrolled as a UPEI undergraduate student

- Applicants will have successfully completed the course for which they are selected to assist within, or have relevant alternative university experience

- Preference will be given to students taking Physics as their major or minor at UPEI





- Previous experience as a laboratory or tutorial assistant is an asset

- Excellent academic performance will be an asset

- Successful applicants are required to provide proof of completion of an online Teaching Assistant Training Program for lab assistants and UPEI WHMIS current training
