Provide student success programs for the student population at the campus level. The Student Support Coordinator at Academy Canada is primarily responsible for monitoring student success and mitigating student attrition by ensuring that all students have access to Academy Canada's student services. This person will develop and administer programs that will provide opportunities for all students to adjust to post-secondary life, such as offering study skills workshops.

Work with "at-risk" students. The Student Support Coordinator will monitor student attendance and progression through their registered programs and identify those at risk of not completing their programs. The Student Support Coordinator will then work with at-risk students with the goal of identifying barriers to their success and finding possible solutions to overcome those barriers, which may include referrals to supports and programs in the community.

Work with students who have disclosed a disability. The Student Support Coordinator will work with students who have disclosed disabilities, including learning disabilities,



and recommend appropriate accommodations that require participation from staff members.

Competencies:

- 2 - 3 years' previous work experience in a similar role
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, internet usage, digital file organization, and email
- Superior organizational and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral, written, listening)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality: empathetic and open-minded
- Self-directed; high level of initiative
- Time management skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet frequently occurring deadlines
- Strong team work ability

Qualifications:

- This position requires the employee to have completion of a post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree in an applicable discipline, combined with experience working in a student-centered learning environment.
