As a Senior Disclosure Analyst, you will process requests to access information under the Access to Information Act (ATIA) and Protection of Privacy Act (POPA) according to statutorily imposed criteria, within mandatory response times and lead privacy impact assessments. Primary duties include:

- Manage and oversee complex requests for information under the ATIA and POPA, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and statutory timelines.
- Review, analyze and make recommendations on complex and sensitive records, determining appropriate disclosure, severing, withholding, or transfer of information in accordance with legislation.
- Provide quality assurance and technical review of Disclosure Analysts' work, ensuring consistency, accuracy, legislative compliance and adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Lead the onboarding, training,



coaching and mentoring of new Disclosure Analysts, while supporting the ongoing professional development of team members.
- Act as a senior resource and subject matter expert to Calgary Police Service employees, management and stakeholders regarding access, privacy and information management requirements.
- Lead and support Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) by identifying privacy risks, recommending mitigation strategies and promoting compliance with legislative and organizational requirements.
- Develop, review and update access and privacy policies, procedures, standards and operational practices to ensure alignment with legislative changes, organizational priorities and industry best practices.
- Coordinate responses to reviews, investigations, inquiries and complaints from the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner (OIPC), including preparation of submissions and supporting documentation.
- Research emerging access and privacy issues and provide strategic advice and recommendations to management regarding legislative compliance, privacy governance and program improvements.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and special projects related to access, privacy, disclosure processes, privacy management programs and implementation of legislative or operational changes.

Qualifications

- A degree in Social Sciences, Law, Communications,



or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior privacy and access to information role, preferably in the public sector.
- Working knowledge of the Access to Information Act (ATIA) and Protection of Privacy Act (POPA) is required.
- Experience in writing Privacy Impact Assessments.
- Experience handling sensitive information in compliance with evolving legislation is required.
- Information Access & Protection of Privacy (IAPP) Certification is an asset.
- Previous experience using electronic information management applications (i.e. SharePoint, Content Server, Adobe Acrobat) is considered an asset.
- Experience in a law enforcement or a legal environment is also considered an asset.
