Senior Accountant, CPA – Public Practice Background with Family Office & Owner-Managed Clients

Toronto, ON | Hybrid Opportunity | $90,000 – $130,000 + Bonus

Our client is looking for a polished, client-focused accounting professional with strong communication skills and hands-on experience servicing private companies.

This role is ideal for someone who:
Recently obtained their CPA designation, or

Has several years of experience in public practice, or

Has moved into industry within the past year and misses the client interaction and variety of working with private businesses.

If you currently work in a smaller or mid-sized CPA firm handling private company files, review engagements, bookkeeping, compilations/notice-to-reader engagements, and tax work — this could be the ideal next step in your career.

Responsibilities

Work directly with owner-managed businesses and privately held clients

Prepare and review:
Notice to Reader / Compilation engagements

Review engagements

Financial statements

Corporate tax files

Manage bookkeeping and accounting functions for multiple clients

Build strong relationships with business owners and stakeholders

Assist with financial reporting,



tax compliance, and advisory support

Utilize software such as:
CaseWare

CaseView

TaxPrep

QuickBooks and related accounting platforms

Qualifications

CPA designation (or close to completion)

Public accounting experience servicing private companies

Experience with review engagements, compilations, bookkeeping, and tax preparation

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Professional, organized, and client-service oriented

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
