Big White Ski Resort is accepting applications for Rental Technicians for the upcoming winter season. This is an active, hands-on role perfect for individuals who love working with gear and engaging directly with guests to ensure they have a safe, perfectly fitted setup for the slopes.

Full training and binding safety certification will be provided. While this role focuses on the technical & maintenance aspect of the rental shop, there are opportunities to cross train with the POS and administrative tasks as the season progresses.

Key Responsibilities

- Equipment Fitting: Select and properly fit guests with all levels of equipment, including skis, snowboards, boots, poles, helmets, cross-country gear, clothing, and snowshoes.

- Technical Operations: Operate RTP rental software from a technician standpoint to assign gear and manage equipment tracking.

- Maintenance & Safety: Perform safety inspections, adjustments, basic maintenance, and repairs on rental fleet equipment to meet strict quality and safety standards.

- Returns & Inventory: Efficiently process returning equipment, inspecting it for damage and prepping it to head back onto the floor.

- Happy Valley Support: Assist in the Skate Rental Shop at Happy Valley as required.

- Environment: Maintain a safe, clean, and highly functional workshop and tech floor at all times.

Required Qualifications

- Previous experience as a Ski and Snowboard Technician is preferred but not essential (we provide full training).

- A strong work ethic and a desire to work in a dynamic, active, and physically engaging role.

- Strong communication skills and a passion for delivering a great guest experience.

- Good organizational skills and the ability to maintain focus in a fast-paced setting.

- A professional attitude, reliability, and a team-first mindset.

- Must be available to work a flexible, rotating schedule, including nights, weekends, and statutory holidays.

- Ability to work additional hours/overtime during peak season volume to meet guest service demands.

- A commitment to being available when the team needs you most is essential to the success of our rental operations
