Sohn’s Agape Taekwondo is seeking an experienced, responsible, and highly dependable Taekwondo Instructor & After-School / Dojang Operations Coordinator to join our team.

This position combines Taekwondo instruction, after-school student care and transportation, parent communication, customer service, and day-to-day dojang operations.

We are looking for an experienced professional who can work independently with minimal supervision and confidently take responsibility for the smooth operation of the dojang when the owner is not present.

This is not an entry-level position. The ideal candidate will have robust Taekwondo teaching experience, excellent communication skills, good organizational abilities, and the confidence to work directly with students, parents, and members.

ResponsibilitiesTaekwondo Instruction

- Deliver high-quality Taekwondo classes appropriate to students’ ages, levels, and abilities
- Teach fundamental techniques, Poomsae, Kyorugi/Sparring, self-defense, fitness, and character development
- Teach and manage children, youth, and adult classes
- Prepare and adapt lesson plans as needed
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Maintain a safe, positive, respectful, and disciplined training environment

After-School Program & Student Transportation
- Pick up students from school and safely transport them to the dojang
- Supervise and care for students throughout the after-school program
- Assist with homework and age-appropriate activities
- Maintain a safe, structured, and positive environment
- Communicate professionally with parents regarding students and daily activities

Dojang Operations & Administration Administrative responsibilities are handled as needed and include:

- Answer phone calls and respond to emails
- Respond to new student and parent inquiries
- Conduct facility tours and new student consultations
- Explain programs, schedules, tuition, and membership options
- Register new students and complete membership agreements
- Maintain student and member records
- Assist with membership management and routine administrative tasks
- Send parent/member communications and announcements
- Use computers, email, and basic office software
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and skilled appearance of the dojang




- Assist with the smooth day-to-day operation of the facility

Independent Leadership & Responsibility
- Take initiative and handle routine responsibilities without constant direction
- Communicate confidently and professionally with parents, students, and members
- Resolve routine issues appropriately and professionally
- Maintain consistent standards of service and student care
- Ensure classes and after-school programs operate smoothly when the owner is away

Candidates who require frequent supervision or are only interested in teaching Taekwondo classes will not be suitable for this position. Qualifications & Experience

- WT/Kukkiwon-recognized Taekwondo Black Belt(3rd Dan ~up)
- Proven professional experience as a Taekwondo Instructor
- Experience teaching children, youth, and adults
- Experience working independently in a Taekwondo school is strongly preferred
- Experience in after-school programs, youth programs, or childcare is an asset
- Solid English communication skills
- Korean language ability is an asset
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer-service skills
- Basic computer, email, and administrative skills
- Reliable, punctual, responsible, professional, and trustworthy
- Able to take initiative and work independently

Driver’s Licence & Student Transportation Because this position includes school pick-up and transportation of children:
- Valid Ontario G Class Driver’s Licence is required
- Ability to safely transport students from school to the dojang
- Recent MTO Driver’s Abstract is required
- Applicants must provide their driving history, including any accidents, convictions, suspensions, or other relevant driving records
- A safe and satisfactory driving record is required
- Previous experience transporting children is an asset

Child Safety & Certifications
- Vulnerable Sector Check required
- Current CPR-C & Standard First Aid certification required, or higher




- Previous experience working with children is strongly preferred
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

Schedule Monday–Friday: 2:30 PM–6:30 PM

Saturday – Bradford Community Centre Program: 9:00 AM–12:00 PM

Saturday availability is required. The successful candidate will assist with teaching and operating our Taekwondo program at a community centre in Bradford.

Additional hours may be available for summer camps, tournaments, special events, and other dojang programs.

Compensation

Starting Wage: $19/hour The starting wage is $19/hour during the initial three-month period.

After three months, a performance review will be conducted, and a wage increase may be negotiated based on demonstrated teaching ability, reliability, responsibility, communication, administrative skills, and the ability to work independently.

The final wage adjustment will be based on overall performance and the level of responsibility the candidate is able to take on.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for more than just a Taekwondo instructor.

The ideal candidate should be able to confidently support the complete afternoon operation of the dojang:

School pick-up → After-school care → Homework support → Taekwondo instruction → Parent communication → New student inquiries → Consultations & registrations → Member support → Administrative duties

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is dependable, mature, experienced, proactive, and capable of taking responsibility without constant supervision.
