Company Description Nova Advanced Imaging – Digital Concrete X-Raying provides contractors and engineers in the Vancouver and Greater Toronto areas with instant, visually reliable inspection of concrete structures. Nova Technicians use advanced imaging methods to identify and map conduit, reinforcing steel, and post-tension cables within concrete slabs. The company’s core principles focus on reducing stress for clients and engineers by delivering clear, dependable visual assessments.

Nova’s niche is to protect clients’ structures before concrete coring, helping prevent damage and costly errors. Team members contribute directly to safer, more efficient construction and engineering projects.

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Technician role based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. The Technician will operate digital concrete x-ray and imaging equipment to scan slabs and structural elements, ensuring accurate detection of embedded items such as conduit, rebar, and post-tension cables. Daily tasks include setting up equipment at job sites, performing scans according to project specifications, interpreting imaging data, and creating clear maps and reports for clients and engineers.

The role involves collaborating with site personnel, following safety protocols, and protecting client structures prior to coring and drilling. The Technician will also maintain equipment,



document findings, and support continuous improvements to inspection methods and client service.

Qualifications

Ability to handle technical field work, including operating imaging or scanning equipment and working safely in active construction environments.

Robust observational and analytical skills to interpret imaging results and accurately map structural elements within concrete.

Effective communication skills to explain findings clearly to clients, engineers, and site teams, both verbally and in written reports.

Solid understanding of basic construction practices, concrete structures, and structural reinforcement concepts, or willingness to learn quickly.

Attention to detail and a commitment to safety, quality, and protecting client structures before coring or drilling.

Comfort with working on-site across the Greater Toronto Area, including travel to various job locations as needed.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing time and tasks to meet project deadlines.

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or experience in construction, engineering, surveying, or imaging is an asset.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites preferred.

Willingness to work flexible hours to accommodate project and client needs.
