Connections for Seniors (CFS)
St. John's, NL Full-time | 40 hours/week | 22-week contract with optional 3-month extension
In-person (CFS Office, First Point Centre & community locations)
Reports to: Project Coordinator

Pay

$21.87/hour40 hours/week Approx. $45,500 annually

Job Overview

Connections for Seniors (CFS) is seeking an Integration & Support Hub Worker to support the delivery of the New Horizons: Senior Integration & Belonging Initiative, a community-based program that helps newcomer and immigrant seniors successfully integrate into life in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Working under the direction of the Project Coordinator, the Integration & Support Hub Worker will provide frontline support to participants, assist with daily program operations, coordinate activities, and help create a welcoming, inclusive environment where newcomer seniors can build social connections, access community services, improve their well-being, and develop a sense of belonging.

This position is ideal for an energetic, compassionate, and organized individual who enjoys working directly with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and is committed to supporting healthy aging and community inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the delivery of the weekly Senior Integration & Support Hub program.
- Welcome participants and assist with program registration and orientation.
- Provide information and referrals to community resources, healthcare, housing, transportation, and government services.
- Assist participants in navigating community programs and supports.
- Help organize workshops, cultural events, and educational sessions.
- Support the Community Companion volunteer program and participant matching.
- Assist with intergenerational programming involving youth and older adults.
- Set up and prepare meeting rooms, activity spaces, and program materials.




- Maintain attendance records, participant files, and service documentation.
- Conduct participant follow-up calls and wellness check-ins.
- Assist with community outreach and promotion of program activities.
- Help coordinate transportation and logistics for participants and group activities.
- Support special events, cultural celebrations, and community engagement initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with volunteers, interpreters, partner organizations, and CFS staff.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- Experience in Human Services, Community Studies, Social Work, Recreation, Health Promotion, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Experience working directly with seniors, newcomers, immigrants, refugees, or culturally diverse communities.
- Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and ability to work respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and basic computer systems for documentation and reporting.
- Valid driver's licence and access to reliable transportation is considered an asset.

Preferred Skills & Assets

- Experience delivering community-based or social programs.
- Experience facilitating workshops, group activities, or community programs is considered an asset.




- Knowledge of settlement services and community resources in NL
- Experience working with volunteers.
- Multilingual abilities are considered an asset.
- Lived experience as a newcomer or immigrant is welcomed.
