Job Summary

The Banquet Server is responsible for delivering exceptional food and beverage service for meetings, conferences, weddings, and special events at Dakota Dunes Resort. This role supports all aspects of banquet operations, including event setup, guest service, banquet portering, and bartending duties while maintaining high standards of hospitality, cleanliness, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up meeting rooms, event spaces, food stations, beverage areas, and guest amenities according to hotel and event specifications.
- Inspect assigned rooms and service areas before events to ensure proper setup, cleanliness, and readiness.
- Provide friendly, efficient, and professional food and beverage service while anticipating and responding to guest needs.
- Greet guests, assist with seating, and provide directions or information as required.
- Serve menu items, beverages, and alcoholic drinks according to resort standards and event requirements.
- Prepare and maintain beverage stations, including banquet bar setup and service, when required.
- Ensure food, beverages, supplies, and service items are replenished throughout events.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet areas, service stations, storage areas, and equipment.
- Reset event spaces between services, including cleaning tables, chairs, floors, equipment, and service areas.
- Safely operate and maintain banquet equipment according to hotel procedures.
- Transport dishes, equipment, tables, and chairs while following secure handling practices.
- Communicate guest requests, special requirements, and service concerns to supervisors or the Banquet Manager.




- Resolve guest concerns professionally and promptly, escalating issues when necessary.
- Maintain knowledge of resort services, facilities, and local attractions to provide helpful guest assistance.
- Follow all departmental policies, safety procedures, responsible alcohol service requirements, and service standards.
- Support the banquet team with additional duties as assigned to ensure successful event execution.

Qualifications

- Previous banquet, hospitality, food service, or bartending experience is considered an asset.
- Minimum 19 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Valid Serving It Right Saskatchewan (SIRS) certification required for bartending and alcohol service duties.
- WHMIS certification required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a guest-focused approach.
- Excellent organization, time management, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to a team environment.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing event schedules, priorities, and guest requirements.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and beverage service.
- Reliable transportation required.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, and transport food and beverage trays weighing up to 65 lbs.
- Ability to move banquet equipment, including tables, chairs, and service supplies.
- Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and other physical movements required.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying event schedules.
