Position Overview

We are building a pool of casual Research Assistants to support a variety of research and analytics projects on an as-needed basis. This opportunity is ideal for students looking to gain hands-on experience in applied health research, data management, and policy-driven analysis.

Potential Responsibilities

- Support applied research activities and investigations

- Data collection, in field or virtually

- Data management, entry, and quality assurance

- Transcription of interview recordings

- Statistical analysis and summary reporting

- Literature reviews and environmental scans

- Compile and synthesize information from multiple sources

- Create data visualizations and diagrams

- Assist with report writing and documentation of findings

- Organize and maintain research materials

Qualifications

- Currently enrolled in, or recently completed (within the past 12 months),



a health-related undergraduate or graduate program

- Strong interest in mental health and/or addiction, social determinants of health, health systems, or recovery-oriented approaches

- Demonstrated academic writing ability, research recruitment, and/or data analysis skills

- Experience conducting evidence syntheses or coursework in literature review methods

- Familiarity with bibliographic databases and citation management software (e.g., EndNote, Zotero, Covidence)

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

- Ability to work independently and manage timelines

- Experience with qualitative synthesis or data extraction methods is an asset

- Coursework in health policy, study design, statistics, epidemiology, program evaluation, or policy analysis is considered an asset

Assets:

- Experience in mental health and/or addiction research settings

- Familiarity with research methods or data analysis tools

- Education background in health sciences, analytics, or technology
