As a Systems Architect, you will report to the Senior Systems Architect, and are typically assigned to the most critical and strategic undertakings.

This role requires an expertise in Linux systems engineering to create innovative solutions for an industry that merges digital storytelling with high-performance computing. You will be involved in engineering and large‑scale systems administration projects, which include the installation, configuration, and support of servers, workstations, and extensive storage environments. This position offers the chance to contribute to technically complex initiatives within a creative environment of skilled artists and engineers as we develop a high-performance global digital workflow.

Bachelor’s degree, with a preference for Computer Science, Engineering or other technical degree. Operate within a team environment to translate organizational goals & strategic objectives into technical architecture plans, ensuring that all developed solutions maintain a competitive edge within the Animation and Visual Effects industry. Research, design, develop and enhance the hardware and software solutions to meet technical & creative requirements for the organization’s state‑of‑the‑art production environment.





Ensure that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices (including security) are applied correctly. Provide technical leadership to project teams during development and deployment phases, while offering guidance and mentorship to diverse stakeholder groups. Maintain comprehensive documentation regarding the implementation of technological solutions.

Establish a handover process for completed projects to assure operationalization of the technology. 10+ years of progressively complex experience, with proven leadership and technical skills in IT infrastructure, preferably in a media‑related industry. ~ Extensive experience with heterogeneous operating systems and computing/networking environments: Linux, Windows and Mac. ~ Experience with virtualization, cloud computing, and DevOps. ~ Experience with Python programming and scripting languages. ~ Experience with advanced networking media, protocols and topologies. ~ Experience working in the Animation and Visual Effects industry. You are recognized internally and externally as an expert in the field. The anticipated base salary for this position is $201,000.00 - $238,700.00 annually CAD.
