Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Political Specialist to Serve as the primary advisor to the POL Minister-Counselor on Canadian policies on migration, the border, political and security dimension of the Arctic, and indigenous issues. Provides in-depth analysis and strategic advice on these issues affecting U.S. interests, independently monitors developments, and supports the Ambassador and senior leadership on related outreach. Cultivates and maintains a network of high-level contacts to elicit value-added information. Independently, drafts spot-reports and analytical cables, and guides and supports the POL Human Rights Officer in the preparation and completion of Congressionally mandated reports. Supports VVIP, VIP, and official visits, and mentors locally engaged political staff across the Mission. Reports to the Political Counselor
Job Types: Full time, Permanent
Pay: $92,000.00-$139,000.00 per year
