Build with a group that's growing
UrbanAge Homes is the residential homebuilding arm of the UA Group of Companies — a family of businesses spanning new home construction, construction management, and specialty trades (including Wicked Walls and 7Eighty Exteriors). We believe great building depends on strong people, clear systems, and a commitment to doing things right. Behind every successful project is a team that values accuracy, accountability, and follow-through.
As we grow, we're expanding our accounting function to support the full group. We're looking for an accountant who can own both sides of the ledger — payables and receivables — and takes pride in keeping things organized, accurate, and moving. This is more than a transactional role: you'll play an important part in the financial discipline behind active residential construction projects and the broader group, helping ensure vendors are paid on time, customers are invoiced accurately, costs are tracked properly, and projects stay on budget.
Why this role matters
You'll sit at the center of the flow of funds across multiple entities and projects — money going out to trades and suppliers, and money coming in from customers and inter-company work. Your work will directly support project progress, trade relationships, cash flow, cost accuracy, and overall operational success. You'll work closely with project managers, site teams, suppliers, and finance leadership in a fast-paced workplace where detail and responsiveness matter. As the group grows, so will the opportunities to take on more.
What you'll do
Payables:
- Review and process a high volume of vendor invoices across the group, matching to purchase orders and job costs
- Prepare weekly and monthly payment runs (cheques, EFTs, wires) in line with vendor terms and cash flow planning
- Allocate costs accurately to projects, entities, budget categories, and GL accounts
- Maintain vendor records, COIs,
and statutory declarations; support holdback and lien-release compliance
Receivables:
- Create and issue customer invoices and progress billings accurately and on time
- Track receivables, monitor aging, and follow up on outstanding balances
- Prepare and issue inter-company invoices across group entities
- Apply customer payments and reconcile receivable accounts
Across both:
- Reconcile vendor and customer statements, bank accounts, and credit cards; resolve discrepancies promptly
- Assist with GST filings, T5018s, and month-end/year-end close
- Identify and recommend process improvements across AP, AR, and accounting workflows
What we're looking for
- Experience in accounts payable and/or accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or accounting
- Construction, homebuilding, or project-based accounting experience is a strong asset
- Strong grasp of invoice processing, billing, reconciliations, and job costing
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across several entities and meet deadlines
- Clear communication and a collaborative style — comfortable following up with customers on outstanding invoices
- Comfort working across operations, project teams, and finance
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset
What you can expect
- A meaningful role in a growing group of companies
- Exposure to both accounting and project operations across multiple businesses
- The opportunity to help strengthen systems and support high-performing delivery
- Full-time employment, salary $50,000–$60,000 annually
- Group benefits eligibility after the applicable waiting period
- Three weeks of annual paid vacation
- Regular business hours, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility as business needs require
Benefits: Extended health care · On-site parking · Paid time off
Work location: In person
Pay: $40,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Dental care
- Flexible schedule
- On-site gym
- On-site parking
- Paid time off
Work Location: In person
