Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Traffic Control Person (TCP) to ensure the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians around construction sites, roadwork zones, or other active work areas. As a TCP, you will play a vital role in maintaining safety protocols, directing traffic flow, and supporting construction teams in a dynamic environment. Your energetic presence will help prevent accidents, facilitate smooth operations, and uphold safety standards at all times.

This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale projects while gaining valuable construction experience.

Responsibilities

- Set up and operate traffic control devices such as signs, cones, barriers, and flagging equipment to guide vehicles and pedestrians safely through work zones.
- Direct traffic flow using hand signals and use of radio communication ensuring compliance with safety regulations and project timelines.
- Monitor work areas continuously to identify potential hazards or unsafe behaviors and communicate promptly with construction teams or supervisors
- Assist in the setup and removal of temporary traffic control infrastructure in accordance with approved plans and safety standards.
- Maintain clear communication with drivers, pedestrians, and team members to ensure understanding of instructions.
- Follow all safety procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE),



to ensure personal safety and that of others on site.

Qualifications

- Prior experience in traffic control, construction, or related fields is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Strong understanding of traffic safety protocols and construction site procedures.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly convey instructions in high-pressure situations.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, or remain alert for extended periods in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.
- Valid certification as a Traffic Control Person (TCP) or willingness to obtain certification upon hire is highly desirable.
- Construction experience is a plus but not mandatory; a proactive attitude and eagerness to learn are essential.
