Men In Trucks Moving Inc. is hiring Truck Drivers in Ottawa - full-time, part-time and casual/on-call. A standard Ontario Class G licence is all you need.
We are a busy Ottawa moving and logistics company. We have been moving Ottawa families and businesses since 2010, and we run residential, commercial, long-distance and white-glove delivery work out of our 10,000 sq ft warehouse. Work is steady and year-round, with plenty of overtime through the busy season. We hire on an ongoing basis, so apply any time.
What you will be doing
- Safely operate a 26-ft straight truck in and around Ottawa and on long-distance runs across Canada
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Navigate to job sites, manage the load plan and lead a 2 to 4 person crew on site
- Load, unload, wrap and protect furniture, appliances, boxes and equipment - our drivers move too
- Handle paperwork: bills of lading, inventory sheets, customer sign-offs
- Represent the company well in customers' homes and offices
What we are looking for
- Valid Ontario Class G driver's licence - that is all our trucks require
- Class D or DZ is an asset but not necessary
- Clean driver's abstract
- Comfortable driving and backing up a 26-ft straight truck, or willing to be trained
- Physically fit - you will be lifting, carrying and climbing stairs alongside the crew
- Reliable and on time. This is the single biggest thing we care about.
- Good attitude with customers and able to lead a small crew
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
Nice to have
- Previous moving,
delivery or furniture-handling experience
- Long-distance driving experience
- Experience with pianos, safes, appliances or specialty items
- Forklift certification
