Duties
- Safely operate heavy-duty trucks to transport goods to designated locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and readiness
- Load and unload cargo using proper lifting techniques, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs for each trip
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues promptly
- Follow all safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries on the road and at loading sites
- Conduct routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues immediately
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of truck operated
- Proven experience in driving large trucks or commercial vehicles
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during loading/unloading processes
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and route planning
- Excellent communication skills and a qualified attitude on the road
- Ability to stay alert during long hours of driving and handle demanding physical tasks with ease
