Army Electric Inc. is a licensed Ontario electrical contractor based in Etobicoke. We run commercial electrical, high-end custom residential, and commercial rooftop solar under our Army Energy division — and we're looking for a licensed 309A who can run work, not just do work.

This is a role for someone who can take a set of drawings, lay out the job, keep an apprentice productive, and deal with an ESA inspector without needing a phone call to the office. Our commercial side is distribution-heavy — services, feeders, large TECK terminations. Our residential side is genuinely high-end, with architectural lighting and home automation packages. If you've been stuck doing the same tenant fit-outs for five years, there's more range here.

What you'll be doing

- Commercial distribution installations — services, switchboards, panels, transformers, splitters, disconnects
- Large TECK cable and feeder terminations
- Conduit layout and installation (EMT, RMC, PVC), cable tray, and cable pulls
- AC-side interconnection, disconnects, and metering for commercial rooftop solar
- High-end custom residential rough-in and finish, including architectural lighting and home automation systems
- Working from drawings, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and specifications
- Coordinating and preparing for ESA inspections; ensuring work meets the Ontario Electrical Safety Code
- Directing and mentoring apprentices on site
- Troubleshooting, service calls, and commissioning
- Material take-offs and communicating site needs back to the office





What you need

- Valid 309A Certificate of Qualification in positive standing with Skilled Trades Ontario
- Solid working knowledge of the current Ontario Electrical Safety Code
- Valid Working at Heights certification (CPO-approved)
- WHMIS 2015
- Valid Ontario G driver's licence with a clean abstract
- Own hand tools and CSA-approved safety boots
- Able to read and work independently from construction drawings and specs
- Able to lift 50 lbs and work at heights, on ladders, and from lifts

Nice to have

- Elevated work platform / boom and scissor lift certification
- First Aid & CPR
- Experience with solar PV interconnection, service upgrades, or utility coordination
- Home automation, lighting control, or low-voltage systems experience (Lutron, Control4, KNX or similar)
- Experience running crews or acting as lead hand / foreman
