Dining Attendant – Casual – Trinity Lodge

The primary responsibilities of Dining Attendants are to provide residents with prompt, courteous and quality food and beverage services in order to achieve a clean, safe and healthy environment for community residents and staff.

Responsibilities (includes but not limited to):

- Follow the dining attendant routine as outlined by the Dining Attendant Lead on shift.
- Communicate with residents to provide menu options, solicit food choices and preferences, and respond to inquiries or concerns regarding food and beverages.
- Serve residents their choice of beverages and food items from daily menu.
- Note any changes in resident preferences.
- Report pertinent observations regarding residents’ eating habits and/or problems to the Nursing staff on duty.
- Ensure the cleanliness of all kitchen dishes, utensils and area is maintained according to the Public Health Regulations.
- Set up and clear dining room as per standards.
- Ensure that all food is wrapped, labelled and stored according to policies, procedures and Public Health Regulations.
- Ensure proper cleaning of kitchen & dining room.
- Ensure that safe procedures are maintained in the kitchen area.




- Attend and provide input at staff meetings and keep up with personal growth through continuing education.
- Follow all Health and Safety rules and regulations, including complying with OH&S; committee requests, and ensure that all injuries and illnesses are reported and treated. Practice safe work habits and report or resolve any work hazards as they occur in the course of duty.

Qualifications

Previous serving experience an asset

Robust oral communication skills

Intermediate computer skills

HOURS OF WORK: Weekdays, evenings and weekends to meet the dining needs of residents.

Physical Requirements

Follow all health & safety regulations in the kitchen
