Aqua Air Systems Ltd. is a leading supplier of HVAC products serving commercial, industrial and institutional customers throughout Alberta. We're looking for a hands-on Assistant Controller who enjoys balancing technical accounting with process improvement and operational support. This role offers the opportunity to contribute across the full accounting cycle while supporting financial reporting for a growing multi-entity organization.

Reporting to the Accounting Controller, the Assistant Controller is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys understanding the details behind the numbers. You'll work across the full accounting cycle, from transactional processes through financial reporting, while helping strengthen systems, improve processes and support accurate reporting across multiple entities.

What You'll Do

● Contribute across the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and month-end close activities, to support accurate financial reporting.

● Take ownership of assigned month-end and year-end close activities across multiple corporate entities.

● Prepare journal entries, reconciliations and supporting working papers.

● Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.

● Process monthly project profit reports for assigned subsidiaries and Aqua Air divisions.

● Reconcile intercompany transactions and balance sheet accounts.

● Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting.

● Support GST, payroll, WCB and other regulatory filings.

● Assist with external accountant requests and year-end preparation.

● Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting and internal controls.

● Support and collaborate with accounting and administrative team members.

● Perform other related accounting duties as required.

What You'll Bring

● CPA designation in positive standing.

● Bachelor's degree in Accounting,



Finance or a related field.

● 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience.

● Experience with full-cycle accounting, month-end and year-end close.

● Strong knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE).

● Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with ERP/accounting systems.

● Experience working in a multi-entity environment is an asset.

● Experience in construction, HVAC, manufacturing, industrial distribution or another project-based environment is considered an asset.

Pay: $90,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
