WonderFil Specialty Threads is seeking an Educator & Business Development Administrator to grow and strengthen our network of quilt teachers, textile educators, designers, and other creative industry professionals.

About the Role

This is a proactive, opportunity-driven role focused on building relationships that lead to measurable business growth.

The successful candidate will actively seek out new educators and designers, identify sales and collaboration opportunities, recommend products for classes and projects, and help creative professionals scale their businesses using WonderFil products and services.

Rather than waiting for opportunities to arise, this person will be expected to initiate conversations, follow up consistently, recognize business potential, and move promising ideas forward. They will become a trusted resource for educators while also ensuring that partnerships create meaningful value for both the educator and WonderFil.

Key Responsibilities

- Proactively research, identify, and connect with quilt teachers, textile educators, designers, authors, content creators, and other potential industry partners.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with educators and designers.Identify and capitalize on sales opportunities, including class kits, custom thread collections, wholesale orders, recurring programs, events, and product recommendations.
- Learn about each educator’s classes, audience, business goals, and upcoming projects to recommend relevant WonderFil products and services.




- Help educators develop scalable class kits and product offerings that support their teaching businesses.
- Recognize opportunities for collaborations, sponsorships, social media features, trade show programming, product development, and cross-promotion.
- Present collaboration ideas and proactively move opportunities from initial conversation through planning, follow-up, and execution.
- Maintain regular communication with high-potential educators and ensure promising leads do not become inactive.
- Recruit and onboard new members into WonderFil’s educator network.Support educators with product education, class planning, ordering, and kit development.
- Attend quilt shows, trade events, conferences, and industry gatherings to network, develop leads, and represent WonderFil.
- Collaborate with the sales, marketing, product development, and events teams to develop educator-led campaigns and initiatives.
- Track relationships, leads, sales activity, opportunities, and follow-up actions using internal systems.
- Monitor the performance and potential of educator partnerships and recommend where WonderFil should invest additional time or resources.
- Look for new ways to expand WonderFil’s reach, increase educator sales, and strengthen the company’s reputation within the quilting and textile industry.

Qualifications

- Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.




- A proactive mindset with the confidence to initiate conversations and pursue opportunities.
- Ability to recognize both immediate and long-term sales potential.
- Comfortable recommending products, discussing business needs, and guiding opportunities toward a clear next step.
- Strong follow-up habits and the ability to manage multiple relationships and projects at once.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to maintain accurate records.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently while collaborating with a larger team.
- Genuine interest in helping educators and creative entrepreneurs grow their businesses.
- Knowledge of quilting, sewing, embroidery, thread, textiles, or the craft industry is strongly preferred.
- Experience in business development, account management, sales support, customer success, partnerships, education, or community development is an asset.
- Willingness to travel to trade shows and industry events when required.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who does more than respond to requests. The ideal candidate actively looks for ways to turn relationships into productive partnerships.

They will be curious about what educators are working on, thoughtful in their product recommendations, persistent with follow-up, and comfortable introducing ideas that can generate sales or create mutually beneficial collaborations.

This person should be able to balance genuine relationship-building with explicit business objectives. Success in this position will come from developing strong industry connections, increasing educator-led sales, creating new collaborative opportunities, and helping both WonderFil and its partners grow.

Pay: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
