Job Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Vehicle Reconditioning Specialist-Wash Bay Attendant! In this energetic role, you will be the first line of contact for vehicle cleanliness and presentation, ensuring each vehicle in our inventory looks its best and is ready for customer delivery. Duties
- Inspect vehicle paint for scratches, swirl marks, oxidation, and other cosmetic imperfections.
- Perform machine buffing, polishing, and paint correction to restore vehicle finishes.
- Remove light to moderate scratches, scuff marks, water spots, and paint defects where possible.
- Apply polishing compounds, waxes, ceramic coatings, and paint sealants as required.
- Clean, polish, and restore headlights, taillights, chrome, and other exterior trim.
- Wash and prepare vehicles prior to buffing and final detailing.
- Vacuum, shampoo, and clean vehicle interiors, including carpets, upholstery, dashboards, door panels, and glass.
- Dress tires and exterior trim to dealership presentation standards.
- Remove decals, adhesive residue, overspray, and other contaminants safely.
- Inspect completed vehicles to ensure dealership quality standards are met before delivery.
- Report any damage or defects that cannot be corrected to management.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the detailing bay and work area.
- Properly use and maintain buffers, polishers, pressure washers, vacuums, steam cleaners, and other detailing equipment.
- Safely handle, store,
and dispose of detailing chemicals in accordance with safety procedures.
- Monitor inventory of detailing supplies and advise when replenishment is required.
- Follow manufacturer recommendations for paint correction and detailing products.
- Move vehicles safely around dealership property while following company policies.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance of dealership inventory.
- Prepare new and pre-owned vehicles for customer delivery.
- Assist with lot presentation by ensuring vehicles are clean and display-ready.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Prior experience in Vehicle Buffering/Detailing is an asset
- cleaning or detailing vehicles is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is essential
- Excellent attention to detail with a passion for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation
- Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and professional demeanor
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety guidelines
- Reliable team player who takes pride in their work and contributes positively to the team atmosphere
- Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and handle physical demands of the role
