Role Description The Veterinary Technician is a full-time, on-site role based at Eagleview Veterinary Hospital in Squamish, BC. In this role, the technician assists veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, and treatments, including preparing patients, collecting samples, and recording medical information accurately. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring patients, providing routine and post-operative care, administering medications as directed, and supporting anesthesia and surgical procedures.
The technician also helps maintain a clean and safe clinical workplace, manages equipment and supply stock, and supports front-desk operations when needed. A key part of the position involves educating clients on pet health, preventive care,
and treatment plans, while providing compassionate, professional service to every client and patient.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess robust skills in Animal Care and Pet Care, including handling, restraint, and monitoring of small animals.
Candidates should possess Veterinary Technology skills, such as basic diagnostics, laboratory procedures, record-keeping, and assisting with medical treatments.
Candidates should possess Anesthesiology-related skills, including preparing patients for anesthesia, monitoring vital signs, and supporting recovery under veterinary supervision.
Candidates should possess Client Education skills, including explaining treatment plans, preventive care, and home care instructions in a clear, respectful manner.
Completion of a recognized Veterinary Technician or Animal Health Technologist program, or equivalent experience, is preferred.
Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Comfort with using veterinary software and maintaining accurate medical records.
Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and handle animals of varying sizes safely, and follow clinic protocols and safety standards.
