We are looking for community volunteers to join the Arnprior & Area Primary Care Recruitment & Retention Committee. Committee members work together to help recruit and retain family physicians, nurse practitioners, and other primary care professionals who serve our growing community.
About the Role
Community members play an significant role by contributing ideas, sharing local knowledge, building community connections, and supporting initiatives that make our area an attractive place for health care professionals to live and work.
Responsibilities
Committee members may
- Participate in developing recruitment and retention strategies.
- Promote the Arnprior area as a welcoming community for health care professionals and their families.
- Assist with community outreach, networking, and marketing initiatives.
- Support partnerships with health care organizations, educational institutions, businesses, and community groups.
- Participate in recruitment events and help welcome prospective candidates during community visits.
- Contribute to fundraising initiatives and community awareness activities.
- Share professional expertise and community perspectives to support committee decision-making.
Who Should Apply? We welcome applicants from a wide range of backgrounds. We are particularly interested in individuals with experience or interest in:
- Community leadership
- Business or industry
- Marketing or communications
- Recruitment or human resources
- Health care or education
- Project management
- Fundraising
- Community service or volunteer leadership
Most importantly, we're looking for people who are enthusiastic about strengthening access to local health care.
Time Commitment
- Up to 12 committee meetings per year (monthly).
- Occasional participation in recruitment events, fundraising activities, or working groups.
- Three year volunteer term with the opportunity for reappointment (maximum six consecutive years).

Interested in a Leadership Role? The Committee is also seeking a Committee Chair. In addition to serving as a committee member, the Chair takes on additional leadership responsibilities, including:
- Lead and facilitate committee meetings and help foster productive discussion.
- Work with the Primary Care Recruitment Coordinator to develop meeting agendas and guide committee priorities.
- Represent the committee as its spokesperson with community partners and stakeholders.
The Chair also supports strategic planning, fundraising, and recruitment initiatives. The Chair is elected by the committee for a two year term. If you are also interested in being considered for the Committee Chair position, please indicate this in your application.
