The Role

We're looking for a warm, organized, and reliable Adoption Manager to be the steady hand behind our Adoption program. You'll be the connective tissue between our applicants, our dog trainers, and our team, making sure every match moves forward smoothly and every person feels supported along the way.

This is a relationship-first role. If you love bringing people together, solving problems, and being part of a mission that genuinely changes lives, this could be a wonderful fit.

What You'll Do

- Oversee the adoption pipeline: track applicants from initial inquiry through to successful placement and post-adoption follow-ups and support
- Support our applicants and adopters: answer questions, guide them through next steps, and be a friendly, reassuring point of contact
- Coordinate with dog trainers: liaise on dog readiness, matching considerations, and placement timing
- Support the team: help keep communication flowing between applicants/adopters, trainers, and Companion Paws adoption team

What We're Looking For:
- Robust communication skills and a genuine warmth with people




- Comfortable managing multiple moving pieces at once
- Reliable and self-directed, able to work independently with light check-ins
- Experience with animals, adoption processes, or nonprofit coordination is a bonus, but not required
- A heart for our mission: connecting people with the therapy dogs that support their wellbeing
- Tech-savvy: Comfortable using various software, CRM, AI, Google Docs, and Sheets. Full training provided.
