Part-Time Temporary Middle School Youth Minister @ 0.50 FTE

Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools is seeking a dedicated and faith-filled Youth Minister to join our team. This unique role is specifically focused on serving the students and staff within the middle school feeder schools attached to St. Joseph High School.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, focusing, and articulating programs that foster the Ministries of Christ, fulfilling a crucial pastoral role in nurturing the spiritual and human development of our school communities. Reporting directly to the respective School Principal, the Youth Minister works in close collaboration with staff, students, priests, parents, and the Superintendent of Faith Development & Division Support to foster vibrant Catholic community life and positive Christian works.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Demonstrate a strong commitment to the RDCRS Mission, Vision, and Values. Actively model Gospel values, Catholic
- Social Teachings, Evangelization, and Catechesis.
- Promote and lead youth ministry and leadership opportunities specifically tailored for the middle school transition years.
- Provide pastoral leadership through the development and implementation of a comprehensive Pastoral Plan, including school masses, daily prayer,



liturgical celebrations, and retreats.
- Act as the primary spiritual link between the middle school feeder schools and the St. Joseph High School community, ensuring a seamless transition of faith development.
- Partner with local priests and the diocese to support sacramental life. Establish and support youth activities that bridge the gap between students and their home parishes.
- Lead staff and students in the implementation of social justice initiatives and works of mercy.

Collaborate with the Faith Permeation Lead Teacher to help staff integrate a Catholic worldview into their daily qualified practice.

- Maintain a versatile schedule to accommodate retreats, evening parish events, or school celebrations as required.
