Nunes-Pottinger Funeral Service & Crematorium Ltd is a family-owned full-service funeral home with an on-site crematorium in Oliver, BC. We are located in the heart of Wine Country in the beautiful south end of the Okanagan Valley. We currently have an opening for a full-time Funeral Attendant/Maintenance Person.

FUNERAL ATTENDANT DUTIES

· Assist on Funeral/Memorial services as a helper to a licensed funeral director

· Shares and performs on-call responsibilities including: taking first calls from families in immediate need and transfers of deceased from place of death to funeral home. This may require long travel times at any time of day or night

· Supervises and cares for the deceased in a respectful and dignified manner

· Performing necessary paperwork checks regarding the operation of the crematorium, processing the cremated remains and placing in the appropriate urn

· Promote a safe work environment by practicing universal precautions

Maintenance Person Duties

· Maintain the building and grounds: including cleaning, vacuuming and making sure funeral home is clean and tidy

· Weed control,



snow removal and general property maintenance

· Maintenance of crematorium and related equipment

· Cleaning and maintaining fleet of vehicles

· Ensuring cleaning and bathroom supplies are on hand

· Loading and unloading caskets and other funeral home/crematorium supplies

· Promote a protected work environment by practicing universal precautions

· Experience

· Open to all levels of experience, training will be provided

Certification/Licenses

· Valid current driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Job Type: Full-time, some weekends, evenings and on-call required

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience
