Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Welder / 2nd Year Apprentice to join our dynamic manufacturing team in Red Deer, Alberta. This role provides an excellent opportunity to further develop welding skills while contributing to the fabrication of high-quality industrial components.
General Accountability:
The Welder / 2nd Year Apprentice is responsible for the protected and timely completion of work orders within the Red Deer Fabric bellow production area while ensuring all products meet established quality, safety, and performance standards.
The successful candidate must be able to manage a fast-paced workload, work independently and as part of a team, and be available for occasional short-notice overtime when required. Upon completion of the training period, participation in an on-call rotation may be required
Duties
- Set up and operate welding equipment, including FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW processes.
- Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and a variety of pneumatic, power, and hand tools safely.
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Complete welding, fitting, assembly, and finishing tasks according to work orders and quality standards.
- Ensure work orders are completed safely,
accurately, and on schedule.
- Follow quality control procedures and complete required inspection documentation.
- Maintain material traceability, product identification, and proper handling of materials.
- Perform minor equipment and tooling adjustments as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Work independently and as part of a team to meet production goals.
- Assist with training new employees as required.
- Participate in safety initiatives and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Work overtime as required to meet operational needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills
