Summary A Welder I at Pacific Seafood is a key role on our Maintenance team supporting efforts to ensure the smooth operation, safety, and efficiency of the facility. This position involves collaboration, safety compliance, and improving efficiencies and is ideal for someone who is adaptable, flexible, and has an eye for detail.

This position is located in Port Hardy, Canada. Key Responsibilities 2. Safety and Compliance: Additional responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary to support the overall goals and objectives of the position.

- Welding Operations:
- Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
- Lay out, position, align, and secure raw materials to be cut, beveled, shaped, or grinded prior to assembly.




- Prepare all material surfaces to be welded.
- Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for assembly.
- Utilize welding equipment such as lathe, band saw, milling machine, water saw, drill press, ironworker/press/breaks, grinders, portable welding machines, and other heavy equipment to join together and shape raw materials.
- Operate and utilize safety equipment and use safe working habits.
- Follow all established safety rules, wear required PPE at all times, and obey safety signs and tags.
- Detect faulty equipment or defective materials and notify Maintenance Manager – remedy any unsafe conditions immediately.

Education And Experience What you bring to Pacific Seafood Required

- 1 or more years’ related experience and/or training

Preferred (But not required)

- Forklift certification

Job Environment Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the team member:

- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Work in awkward position
- Stand for periods of time

Working Conditions While performing the duties of this job, the team member is exposed to:

- Moderate noise level in the work workplace.
- Plant exposure to wet, cold, and/or humid temperatures.
