Make a difference in the lives of women and gender-diverse individuals as a Women’s Advocate with YWCA Hamilton. This role offers part time hours focused on crisis intervention and supportive counseling. YWCA Hamilton is seeking three part-time Women’s Advocates for its Transitional Living program.
You will work with women and gender non-binary clients to support their transition to independent living through crisis support, assessments, and program facilitation. This position enhances social and living skills while maintaining a commitment to a feminist and anti-oppressive framework. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily shelter operations and client independence planning
- Conduct intake evaluations and identify client needs
- Maintain accurate client records according to policies
- Collaborate with community agencies for referrals
- Facilitate regular programming to improve client living skills Requirements:
- 2 years college in social work or human services
- 1-3 years crisis management experience
- Familiarity with issues facing diverse women
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
