Alexandra Marine & General Hospital is seeking a dedicated Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our team on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to provide high-quality patient care in a collaborative and supportive environment. RPNs provide support across a variety of areas, including Medical/Surgical, and Mental Health. RPN’s work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays.
Qualifications:
- Current Registration and Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current BCLS
Required Skills:
- Aseptic Technique
- Code White certification
- Computer literacy and Meditech knowledge and experience
- Current Acute Care Hospital experience
- Current competence in Blood Glucose Monitoring I.V. Management Medication Administration
- Experience in patient assessment skills
- Current knowledge and experience in psychiatric nursing
- Previous experience or working knowledge in conducting mental health assessments, including familiarity with the MH-RAI would be considered an asset
- Previous experience or working knowledge in conducting Mini-Mental Status Examinations (MMSE), Hamilton Rating Scales, and Global Assessment of Functioning (GAF) evaluations

- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team to provide optimal patient care
- Ability to work weekends and rotating shifts

- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Consistently meets attendance expectations, demonstrating reliability and commitment to scheduled shifts
