Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Seafood Clerk to join our team and provide exceptional service to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the seafood industry, with experience in food handling, preparation, and customer service. This role involves preparing, packaging, and selling fresh seafood products while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. The Seafood Clerk plays a vital role in creating a welcoming environment and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the seafood department.

Responsibilities

- Assist customers by providing knowledgeable guidance on seafood products and cooking tips
- Prepare seafood items through proper butchery, meat cutting, and portioning techniques
- Handle seafood with care, adhering to food safety standards and hygiene protocols
- Package seafood products efficiently for sale or take-home use
- Maintain fresh and appealing displays of seafood, ensuring proper stock rotation
- Keep the work area clean, sanitized, and organized in compliance with health regulations
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management




- Support kitchen or food preparation activities as needed for special events or promotions

Skills

- Experience in the food industry, particularly with seafood products asset
- Knowledge of food handling, safety procedures, and sanitation standards
- Skilled in food preparation, including filleting and portioning techniques is an asset
- Ability to operate packaging equipment efficiently
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Previous kitchen experience or familiarity with food safety regulations is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a quick-paced environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights up to 50lbs as required

Pay: From $18.25 per hour
