Director of Weddings – Flexible Event-Based Leadership Opportunity

North Okanagan Events is growing, and we are looking for a passionate, organized and dependable individual to lead our wedding division as our Director of Weddings.

This is not a traditional part-time position with set weekly hours. It is a flexible, event-based leadership chance for someone who wants to help build and grow the wedding division of an established local event company.

The Director of Weddings will become the primary contact for our wedding clients and help guide them through the planning and coordination process. You will work closely with the owner of North Okanagan Events and the rest of our leadership team while developing your own area of the business.

Responsibilities may include:

- Responding to assigned wedding inquiries
- Meeting and communicating with wedding clients
- Helping couples develop their wedding vision
- Preparing timelines, checklists and event plans
- Coordinating with venues, vendors and other event professionals
- Assisting with décor selections, rentals and service packages
- Overseeing wedding setup, styling and event execution
- Providing day-of coordination when included in the client’s package
- Following up with clients before and after their event
- Building relationships with local venues and wedding professionals
- Helping create and promote new wedding packages
- Supporting the continued growth of the North Okanagan Events wedding division

- Able to work evenings and weekends when weddings are scheduled
- Experienced in weddings, events, hospitality or customer service

Previous wedding-planning or coordination experience is an asset, but we are also interested in candidates with solid organization, leadership and customer-service skills who are eager to learn.

Hours will vary depending on bookings and the growth of the wedding division. There are no guaranteed weekly hours. Most work can be planned flexibly, but availability will be required for client meetings, wedding setups and scheduled events.
