About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team and take ownership of our fleet’s health. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a diverse lineup of trucks and heavy machinery. You will play a critical role in keeping our operations moving by proactively planning maintenance around our crew schedules to minimize downtime.

You will be maintaining a fleet that currently includes 8 Heavy Trucks, 11 Pick-up Trucks, 15 Trailers, and 18 pieces of Heavy Equipment.

Equipment You Will Work On:

- Tractor-trailers and tandem trucks
- Heavy earth-moving equipment (Dozers, Excavators, Backhoes)
- Compaction equipment
- Small power tools (e.g., cut-off saws, etc.)

Duties & Responsibilities

- Diagnose & Repair: Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and service diesel engines, heavy trucks, and heavy equipment.
- Parts Procurement: Source, order, and track necessary replacement parts and materials to ensure timely repairs and minimize equipment downtime.
- Maintenance Scheduling: Actively manage the fleet maintenance schedule, planning repairs and servicing around crew schedules to ensure maximum equipment availability.
- Record Keeping: Create and manage digital work orders to accurately record parts and labor using

Motive software.

- Equipment Handling: Safely move and position heavy equipment in and around the shop/yard as required.
- Shop Management: Maintain a clean, organized,



and safe shop environment at all times.
- Teamwork: Work effectively on your own with minimal supervision, or collaboratively alongside the team.
- Perform other shop and maintenance duties as assigned.Qualifications & Skills

Required:

- Proven experience working as a mechanic on heavy trucks and heavy equipment.
- Ability and confidence to safely move and operate heavy equipment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage your own schedule and work independently.

Preferred (Strong Assets):

- Certification: Completion of a Heavy Duty Mechanic Trade Certification (Journeyperson).
- License: Class 1 Driver’s License with a clean driver's abstract (Class 3 will also be strongly considered).
- Welding: Practical welding experience and ability.

Job Types: Permanent, Full time

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour
