Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Buyer is responsible for all aspects of the procurement process, including supplier evaluation, strategic sourcing, supplier performance monitoring, and analyzing data for cost savings. The Buyer negotiates pricing, vendor selection and/or development, generates and manages purchases while ensuring production requirements are met.Source and ensure on-time availability of materials required for custom, engineered to order complex productsAssist with supplier quality initiatives including supplier evaluation, scorecard preparation and delivery, create and maintain supplier corrective action plans aimed to reduce delivery and quality issues within the supply baseFacilitate resolution of supplier quality/fulfillment related issuesAchieve quality, cost, inventory, and delivery targetsDevelop robust working relationships with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, sales, and engineering to understand and anticipate procurement needs to enhance supply chain business processesPrepare supplier contracts, supply agreements, with preferred suppliers to ensure that market trends, supplier performance, and future business needs are alignedSupport global supply management and cost savings initiatives, including identification and execution of cost savings opportunities with current and potential domestic and international suppliersActively work with the Planning and Operations teams to develop strategies to eliminate parts shortages and provide forecasts to suppliers and G&W; Electric head office to ensure material availabilityProvide subject matter expertise on purchasing best practicesPlan for and execute the procurement of raw material and services from domestic and international suppliers using the in house ERP/MRP systems, expedite materials as required to ensure production needs are metPrepare and evaluate request for quote proposals, negotiation of contract pricing, terms and conditionsPreparation/Reporting of metrics related to materials, cost savings, forecasting,



and supplier qualityInventory analysisEvaluate and process indirect purchase order and capital requestsOther duties as assignedWe are looking for someone who:
Has a minimum of 2 years of purchasing/procurement experience within a manufacturing environmentBachelor's degree or college diploma in business or a related disciplineWorking knowledge of ERP/MRP systems required.Advanced computer software skills, MS excel, access, project etc.Ability to multi-task under pressure in a high paced environment.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written in EnglishResults-oriented, self-motivated individual with a sense of initiativeAbility to work independently and as a team player while solving problems and multitasking in a deadline-driven environmentAbility to independently identify and develop solutions to problems that may arise in the course of workAbility to respond effectively to inquiries or comments from internal/external customers and suppliersMust have purchasing background working to support the manufacturing of custom productsMust have experience sourcing niche suppliersExcellent knowledge of sourcing and procurement best practicesExperience working within a technical engineering environmentResourceful, diplomatic, customer service orientedStrong analytical, decision-making, negotiation, and problem-solving skillsWell-developed organization and prioritization skills;
detailed orientedEmbraces changes with a positive attitudeExperience in creating and documenting processes and procedures;

This role is located in the general office environment, with regular visits to manufacturingPC useWhat we offer you:
The pay range for this position is between $65,000-$75,000 annually.Please note the pay information shown above is a general guideline.
