This position is responsible to meet the goals and objectives of the organization by leading, directing and overseeing the accounting operation for multiple manufacturing sites within the business unit level. Key contributions include the preparation, consolidation and/or execution of the site’s(s) P&L;, including monthly, quarterly & annual close process, financial statements, general ledger, material margin improvement, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, and various special analyses. Responsibilities include maintaining internal controls and safeguards, with GAAP and other regulatory standards compliance, for receipt of revenue, costs, budgets and actual expenditures. Responsible for developing policies, practices and procedures that have significant impact on the organizationCoordinate all audit activityOversee the preparation of financial statements & filings in compliance with GAAP & other regulatory standardsConsistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner;
clearly communicate site level and consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements;
monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership abreast of financial statusSupport the VP, Finance in engaging the board’s audit and finance committees around issues and trends in financial operating models and delivery.Lead and direct the divisions finance team including creating and promoting a positive and supportive work environment. Leverage strengths of team members to help clarify roles and responsibilities, develop and implement training programs to maximize and reach optimal individual and organizational goalsAlign department strategy with organizational goalsResponsible for personnel actions including hiring, performance and terminationProvide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organizationManage organizational cash flow forecasting by working in partnership with executive leadership including vice presidents;
continuously collaborate to assess the financial efficacy of program operations and establish finance and administrative systems as a support system.Manage and track the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelinesOversee & prepare monthly/quarterly consolidated supplemental detail in support of monthly financial reports including adhoc reports and analyses of division finances that facilitate decision makingAll other duties as assignedPosition will be located out of our Whitby, ON Plant and support our Montreal plant.Qualifications, Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in either Accounting or Finance.Minimum 10 years of experience in Financial Management in a manufacturing organizationCPA certification and/or MBA preferred.Proven and effective leadership and management skillsSolid experience coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll, and accounting for investments.Analytical thinking, ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports.Excellent interpersonal skills.Solid working knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems and related manufacturingExperience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), Visio, Teams and OutlookMaintains strict confidentiality and protects privacy of confidential/sensitive information.Exceptional time management and organization skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously establishing priorities to meet deadlines.Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, and presentations) with executive leadership, staff, and internal and external clients.Proactive;
