Sylvan Learning - Langley

Sylvan Learning is the industry leader in supplemental education, helping students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 build confidence and achieve academic success.

We are looking for enthusiastic part-time Math & Science Tutors who enjoy working with students and are familiar with the BC Curriculum. As a Sylvan Instructor, you will receive comprehensive training in the Sylvan teaching method and curriculum, along with the tools and support needed to teach in a small-group setting (up to 3 students per instructor).

Responsibilities

- Teach Math and Science using Sylvan programs and instructional methods
- Assist students with math homework and assignments when appropriate
- Motivate, encourage, and engage students throughout each lesson
- Recognize and reward student achievement
- Evaluate and document student progress




- Communicate student progress and learning needs with the Director
- Build positive relationships with students and create a fun, supportive learning environment

Hours of Instruction

- Monday–Thursday: 2:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
- Friday: 2:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
- Saturday: 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Math, Science, or a related field, or currently pursuing one
- Previous tutoring or teaching experience preferred
- Familiarity with the BC Curriculum is an asset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced setting
- Passion for helping students build confidence and succeed ac
