The bread and pastry assistant at Hildegard's Bakery works with our Bread and Pastry Teams. On the bread side they'll help make sourdough hearth breads, pan breads, buns, pretzels, bagel, and focaccia. On the pastry side they'll work on tarts, scones, muffins, cookies, and pies. This is a temporary position, likely to be extended permanently, possibly with more hours available.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Mix, fold, and shape doughs
- Prep fillings and other ingredients for pastry, bread, and focaccia
- Prepare pastry products including tarts, pies, muffins, scones, cookies, croissants, bars, etc.
- Bake bread and pastry products
- Finish pastry products by glazing, cutting, displaying for sale
- Mix sourdough starters
- Fire oven
- Maintain inventory and restock ingredients

REQUIREMENTS

- Commercial baking experience and/or education preferred
- Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and enthusiasm for good food
- Able to lift 50lbs and demonstrate reasonable physical endurance
- Proven leadership and communication skills
- Excellent mental math skills
- Multitasking ability

Pay: $17.10-$19.00 per hour
