Responsible to the Excel Feeds Inc. Production Manager for the mixing, batching and pelleting of livestock and poultry feeds following established Company procedures and quality controls.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

- Responsible for following biosecurity and other company policies.
- Responsible for the knowledge of all WHMIS and TDG regulations and procedures.
- Maintains knowledge of and, executes all Company Safety Policies and Procedures as required by the organization and other regulatory agencies.
- Responsible for being self-motivated and being able to work independently
- Maintains and represents a professional and positive image for the company at all times
- Performs other related duties as assigned, including holiday relief
- Functions as a team member

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

- Responsible for daily checking boiler function and daily manufacturing of feeds.
- Ensures formulas, batching accuracy, mixing and sequencing procedures are followed.
- Responsible for all required testing of finished feeds.
- Responsible for daily Medication Reconciliation.
- Ensure all pelleting is being produced in accordance with company guidelines, i.e. correct conditioning temperatures, correct texture,



and correct liquid addition.
- Ensures all forms pertaining to production are completed accurately.
- Responsible for checking quality of and verification of all incoming ingredients (includes daily visual checks).
- Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules.
- Ensure proper mill shut down.
- Performs daily computer back-up and inventory reports.
- Informs a supervisor immediately of concerns or problems

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

- Previous feed mill experience an asset

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

- Grade 12 Education
- Class 4 Power Engineer Steam ticket
- Must possess forklift certification or be certified within 3 months
- Computer experience and knowledge would be an asset to this position

SKILLS REQUIRED

- Must have a good command of written and spoken English language.
- Must possess valuable interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be organized and detail oriented.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in making decision and taking actions.
- Should be able to do minor maintenance and repairs.
- Physical strength and stamina to fulfill the required duties and responsibilities.

$30.47 – $38.08 per hour
