Overview
We are seeking reliable and hardworking individuals to join our team. As a Hazardous Materials Technician, you will be responsible for completing abatement projects for asbestos, mold, lead, and other hazardous materials.
Responsibilities
- Set up and dismantle containment areas, including poly sheeting, negative air machines, decontamination units, and other safety barriers.
- Properly seal work areas using tape, hard hoarding, and other materials to prevent contamination spread.
- Assist in erecting scaffolding, temporary enclosures, and other support structures as required.
- Operate HEPA vacuums and negative air machines to maintain controlled environments.
- Follow all company and regulatory safety procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE.
- Perform daily checks on containment integrity and adjust as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, materials, and work areas.
- Assist with site preparation, cleanup, and disposal of hazardous materials according to guidelines.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience in asbestos, mold, or hazardous material abatement preferred, but not required (training will be provided).
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments,
including lifting heavy materials, standing for long periods, and working in confined spaces.
- Knowledge of OH&S; regulations and safety procedures related to hazardous materials is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, if required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Must be able to pass a fit test for respiratory protection.

Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
