Superior Construction is looking for an experienced Carpenter / Lead to join our growing team for in-town projects. We're looking for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, leads by example, and can keep projects running safely and efficiently.

Position Overview

Superior Construction is seeking an experienced Carpenter / Lead to oversee and participate in daily construction activities on in-town projects. The successful candidate will lead by example, coordinate crews, maintain quality workmanship, and ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and work alongside carpenters and labourers on active job sites.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
- Coordinate daily work activities to meet project schedules.
- Perform framing, forming, finishing, renovations, and general carpentry.
- Ensure quality workmanship and compliance with project requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work workplace.
- Coordinate with project management, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Train and mentor apprentices and new employees.
- Complete daily reports and communicate project progress.

Safety Leadership — Top Priority

- Lead by example and promote a strong safety culture.




- Ensure compliance with company policies and Ontario health and safety regulations.
- Conduct daily hazard assessments and toolbox talks.
- Stop work immediately when unsafe conditions exist.
- Report hazards, incidents, and near misses promptly.
- Ensure all crew members wear required PPE and follow safe work practices.

Qualifications & Requirements

- 3+ years of carpentry experience; leadership experience considered an asset.
- Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's licence
- Knowledge of Ontario construction safety requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
