We are currently seeking an experienced Truckload Planner to work in our Woodstock, NB office. In this role the incumbent will be responsible for the planning and assignment of trucks to load for delivery and pick-up for various customers in a defined geographical area; ensure there is enough freight to keep all trucks moving; and dispatch trucks. This will be accomplished by working collaboratively with other Planners, Dispatchers, Drivers, Driver Planning and the Management Team. This position requires a robust understanding of planning, problem solving and efficient use of resources.

Main Duties

- Strategically plan and assign trucks to load for delivery and pick-up for various customers.
- Trouble shoot changes to plans and reorganize to ensure productive use of resources.
- Ensure there is enough freight to keep all trucks moving.
- Find additional loads and assign to trucks when necessary.
- Closely monitor on-time movement of all customer loads
- Make pick-up/delivery appointment as needed.
- Communicate plans clearly with Dispatch and Drivers.
- Dispatch trucks

Education and Skills Requirements

- 2-3 years of experience planning customer loads & freight movements
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite




- Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new programs.
- Knowledge of Hours-of-Service requirements and legislation is an asset.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Analytical skills and Detail oriented
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- TruckMate experience is an asset.
