Duties
- Prepare and cut meat products according to customer specifications and safety standards
- Handle meat with proper food safety and hygiene practices
- Package meat products efficiently for retail display and sale
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the butcher area, tools, and equipment
- Assist customers with product selection, answer questions, and provide exceptional customer service
- Ensure all food handling procedures comply with health regulations
- Restock display cases and monitor inventory levels to meet customer demand
- Follow all safety protocols during food preparation and handling processes
Qualifications
- Previous experience in the food industry, particularly in butchery or meat cutting preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation, handling, and safety standards
- Skilled in meat cutting techniques and packaging methods is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to assist shoppers effectively
- Kitchen experience or related food handling background is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
