About the Role
We're looking for an Accounting Analyst to provide part-time support while we continue implementing new finance systems and improving our accounting processes.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll help maintain accurate financial records, perform reconciliations, support month-end activities, and contribute to projects that improve the efficiency of our finance function.
This role is well suited for someone who enjoys both day-to-day accounting work and finding better ways to do things.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare bank, credit card, and payment processor reconciliations
- Assist with month-end close and account reconciliations
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable reconciliations
- Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy
- Assist with data cleanup, system implementations, and workflow improvements
- Help identify opportunities to automate and improve accounting processes
- Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects
Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Accounting
- 3+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles
- Experience with QuickBooks Online or Odoo
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable learning new systems and adapting to change
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Available to work within North American business hours (Pacific Time preferred)
- Comfortable participating in regular video meetings
Nice to Have
- Experience with inventory, manufacturing, or e-commerce businesses
- Experience working with both Canadian and U.S. entities
- Experience with ERP implementations or process improvement initiatives
- CPA student or similar designation
