Summary

We are seeking a Shop Operations Manager to oversee our maintenance and operational activities at our facility in Armstrong, BC. This pivotal role ensures the efficiency of our fleet operations aligns with our company's mission of safety and quality service.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage daily shop workflow and prioritize repairs based on safety, urgency, and operational needs.

· Act as the first point of contact for drivers reporting maintenance issues.

· Coordinate preventive maintenance scheduling for trucks and trailers.

· Work with the mechanics to ensure repairs are completed efficiently and properly documented.

· Track open work orders, down units, repair status, parts delays, and estimated completion times.

· Manage company tire inventory and work directly with tire service providers.

· Use maintenance software to update work orders, PM schedules, repair history, and equipment records.

· Work closely with the Fleet Manager to monitor repair costs, reduce downtime, and identify recurring maintenance issues.

· Communicate equipment status updates to drivers, dispatch,



operations, and management.

· Help ensure the shop, parts, and tire inventory remain organized and properly tracked.

Qualifications

· Solid mechanical knowledge of commercial trucks and trailers.

· Experience in fleet maintenance, shop coordination, transportation, or a related field.

· Strong organizational and prioritization skills.

· Comfortable working with drivers, vendors, dispatch, and management.

· Experience using maintenance software or work order systems.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced trucking environment.

· Strong communication and follow-up skills.

· Cost-conscious mindset with a focus on safety, compliance, and equipment uptime.

Heavy-duty mechanical experience, previous shop management experience, or experience managing third-party repair vendors would be considered a strong asset.

Position Details

Location: Armstrong, BC

Position Type: Full-time, on-site

Compensation: $75,000 – $90,000 per year, depending on experience

Reports To: Director of Fleet Operations
