Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently
- Manage inventory by stocking shelves, checking expiration dates, and ordering supplies as needed
- Provide excellent patient care by answering questions and offering guidance under pharmacist supervision
- Maintain accurate records of medication dispensation and patient interactions in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Support the pharmacy team with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and processing insurance claims
- Ensure the pharmacy environment adheres to safety protocols and cleanliness standards
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding medication instructions and safety precautions
- Stay informed about new medications, pharmacy procedures, and healthcare regulations
Qualifications
- Previous hospital experience or pharmacy technician experience is preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration processes
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach
- Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Certification or training as a pharmacy technician is a plus but not required
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional healthcare certifications are advantageous
